Aqsa Hussain's client, RS, was a young man of effective good character accused of one count of Rape and one count of controlling and coercive behaviour spanning a four-year intimate relationship. The case involved examining large amounts of disclosure from family court proceedings; dealing with late prosecution disclosure; relying on non-defendants' bad character; and extensive cross-examination of the prosecution witnesses, many of whom were granted special measures by the court.

Trial was heard at Basildon Crown Court and lasted 8 days after which the jury returned unanimous Not Guilty verdicts for both counts on the indictment. These criminal proceedings have loomed over the client, RS, for five years and are now finally over.

Aqsa was instructed by Rajvinder Dayal of RBB Law.
