Kevin Leigh, along with other speakers, gave a talk at a Rural Planning webinar on 2 Nov 2021 (12:30-13:45): What is the role of planning in the rural areas?
The webinar, which also heard talks from Laura Archer (RTPI SE Junior Vice-Chair, Portsmouth City Council), Thomas Ogden (Bloomfields Chartered Town Planners), Georgina Timmis (ECOSA) and Daniel Carter (Ashford Borough Council), focused on rural diversification, Biodiversity Net Gain, Nutrient Neutrality and Case law. The event looked at the association between our ever-changing planning system and the future of the countryside, with the speakers exploring the effective integration and balancing of economic, social and environmental factors in promoting sustainable development of our rural areas
