The BBC has revealed its list of 100 inspiring and influential women from around the world for 2021 and 33 Bedford Row's Rehana Popal is among them.
"This year 100 Women is highlighting those who are hitting "reset" - women playing their part to reinvent our society, our culture and our world."
Rehana's skill as an immigration and civil-law specialist is given special mention, as well as her Barrister of the Year Award at the 2019 Inspirational Women in Law Awards.
Women from Afghanistan make up half of this year's list, and Rehana, being the first Afghan woman to practise as a barrister in England and Wales, is one of them.
"I hope that in the future, women and girls in Afghanistan can have the freedom to be educated, employed and live without fear."
