The Aims and Purpose of Ukraine Justice Alliance

The Ukraine Justice Alliance's aims and purpose are as follows:

'Our inclusive alliance aims to provide free advice on an array of current and critical legal issues (from the humanitarian consequences to matters of accountability) that are affecting Ukraine.  We will also explore and support/bring direct legal actions regarding human rights and international law violations, environmental abuses and stolen and damaged national assets.'

'Our coalition will provide legal resources to established NGOs during the Ukrainian conflict.'

And:

'We are a coalition of lawyers, law firms and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that have formed an alliance to support Ukrainians in response to the catastrophic invasion of their country.

We wish to provide a secure platform and resource to provide Ukrainian people, NGOs, civil society organisations and the legitimate government of Ukraine with the very best legal expertise now, and as needs change and develop.'

Further, that:

'This alliance will facilitate effective and collaborative evidence gathering (with alliance partners) and where necessary provide evidence to the relevant prosecuting authorities concerning the actions carried out by President Putin – as he claims – on behalf of the Russian state.  We distinguish Putin and the architects of his war from the citizens of Russia and in particular those brave opponents that are taking to the streets of Russia to protest against the invasion. We intend to develop a legal resource to support and assist such opposition.'
