Following a 4 Day trial at Inner London Crown Court, Tinessa Kaur secured a unanimous acquittal for a defendant charged with Section 20 Grievous Bodily Harm.
On the first day of trial, Tinessa successfully opposed the Crown’s application to adduce two previous guilty pleas, which were excluded under section 78 of PACE. She also resisted the Crown’s application for the complainant to give evidence via live link, ensuring full procedural fairness throughout the proceedings.
The defendant, who had been remanded in custody since February, was sentenced today for outstanding matters and received a 33-week custodial term, likely deemed served due to time already spent on remand.
Tinessa was instructed by Barry Cheeseman of Cheeseman Solicitors.
