Tyler Smith Secures Acquittal After Successful 'No Case to Answer' Submission

Following a successful submission of no case to answer at Woolwich Crown Court Tyler Smith’s client was acquitted of two counts of intentionally causing racially aggravated harassment, alarm or distress against two police officers.

Tyler’s submission focused on the deficiencies within the prosecution case.  In cross-examination, the complainants had made admissions that assisted the defence case which she outlined for the court. Further, they had accepted omitting an eyewitness at the scene from their statements, thereby undermining their credibility.  Following her submission, the Crown reviewed their position and offered no evidence on all counts.

Tyler was instructed by Simon Harrison of Vienna Kang Advocates.
