Baldip Singh successful in Leave to Remain Appeal

Baldip Singh obtained Leave to Remain for a terminally ill, 74-year-old Tanzanian national (SJ). Baldip successfully challenged the certification of the Appellant's Human Rights case, and the refusal to accept new evidence as a fresh claim under 353 of the Immigration Rules. Following 5 years of litigation, and Baldip's tireless efforts for his client, Baldip was successful on all grounds of appeal.

SJ's daughter said:

"We had been to a number of solicitors, who did very little to take my father’s case further. We were often taken advantage of by some solicitors because we knew nothing about immigration law. It was an uphill struggle with no light at the end of the tunnel; it nearly broke our family. We then met a number of barristers and finally found Mr Singh at 33 Bedford Row. He gave us hope. He explained the process step by step and each legal argument he would be advancing in plain English. He has fought tirelessly against the SSHD to get justice for my father and we cannot thank him enough for what he has done for our family."

SJ's son in law said:

"Mr Singh has always been very uplifting and knowledgeable about the case in hand. Baldip’s communication is second to none. At every step of the process Baldip knew what to do, and how to proceed to the next part of the process like the back of his hand. Without the help of Baldip, I am sure we would not have won this case. Baldip was always available for us over the phone and email, never made our constant questions feel like a burden, despite his incredibly busy schedule and dealing with many other vulnerable clients just like us. What impressed me even further was that Baldip remembered specific details about the case without having to refer back to the hard file, he mastered each document as and when it came in. When we met Baldip in Chambers on the day of the hearing, he came out to meet us and instantly settled our nerves, he went through the details of the case with us and was very professional. He was strong and confident in court and fought valiantly. We are eternally grateful to this incredible man for helping us win this case. Thank you."
