Introduction

Emma is a passionate advocate with a total dedication to her clients.  She is a tenacious fighter for her client’s cases and highly regarded for her warm manner yet fearless approach.

Emma has extensive experience and is instructed across the board in criminal defence.  She has defended in serious crime for well over a decade from homicide to serious sexual offences, serious violence, child neglect, high level drugs cases and fraud.  She has vast experience in dealing with vulnerable witnesses with a sensitive and considered approach.  She has successfully defended in serious sexual offences with multiple offences and complexities.

Emma leaves no stone unturned and is acutely committed to meticulous care in both the preparation and presentation of cases for her clients.   She is a natural advocate.  She has successfully stayed cases as abuse of process from rape to fraud and will fight every point for her client. 

Emma has a strong relationship with her instructing solicitors who appreciate her dedication and results.  When instructed as a junior she brings her extensive knowledge and expertise to the table as a strong team player and experienced junior.

2025 R v A – Cambridge CC – Murder, junior counsel, neuro-divergent defendant, complex pathology evidence regarding causation and multiple experts instructed.  Loss of control.

2025 R v H – Norwich CC – sexual offences – professional client -  representing a senior serving police officer with multiple charges of sexual assault.

2025 R v L – Cambridge CC – sexual offences, neuro-divergent complainant.

2025 R v T – Cambridge CC – arson, highly vulnerable defendant.

2024 R v M – Ipswich CC – child neglect;  junior counsel, coined by the prosecution lead expert as the ‘worst case of child neglect he had seen in 30 years of practise’.   Complex medical evidence and multiple experts instructed.  Successfully reduced the gravity of the prosecution case that could be established.

2024 – R v F – Norwich CC – blackmail, gang related serious financial crime.  Successfully acquitted whilst the co-defendant was convicted.

2024 – R v B – Cambridge CC – extensive gang dishonesty, 12 yr old defendant.

2024 – R v S – Cambridge CC – arson, multiple experts instructed.
