On 17.2.2020, Dancia Penn OBE QC was sworn in as a judge of The Caribbean Community Administrative Tribunal (CCAT) by the Honourable Justice Adrian Saunders, President of the Caribbean Court of Justice. The swearing in ceremony took place at the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) Headquarters in Barbados.

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has established the CCAT as an impartial and independent judicial body to provide staff at CARICOM Secretariat and Regional Institutions with a forum for the final settlement of employment disputes.

The appointment is an ad hoc appointment rather than a full time appointment, meaning that Dancia will be assigned to hear cases from time to time.  Consequently Dancia is available for instruction as before.

The formation of the CCAT is reported here, and by the CCJ Academy of Law here.
