Members offer advice and representation on a range of matters of national and local taxation. In respect of local taxation, members have particular experience in business rates and council tax, whether in the Magistrates Court in respect liabilty orders, or before the valulation tribunal, and whether the contested issue is as to who make liable for the tax, or correct quantum of that liability, including eligibility for tax relief.  

Members of Chambers advise on all aspects of indirect tax law, with particular experience in VAT, Customs and Excise law, classification and valuation’s disputes, warehousing and other customs’ relief matters. Members also advise on issues relating to Insurance Premium Tax, environmental taxes and Stamp Duty Land Tax.

Members appear regularly at the Tax Tribunals and the higher courts in disputes against Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) in relation to both Direct and Indirect Tax matters. Members also have expertise in export control, embargoes and international trade sanctions.
