Diana Constantinide successfully presented the matter of The General Optical Council (GOC) and Umar Massod on behalf of the GOC, UK regulator for optometrists and dispensing opticians in a 4 day substantive hearing.
A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found registrant’s fitness to practise impaired. This is in relation to failing to appropriately examine and/or assess patients’ eyes and recording findings for examinations not undertaken. It resulted in securing a suspension for Umar Masood for four months.
