Hammad Baig addresses ACITA's Southern Regional Meeting on Post Brexit Customs Legislation

Hammad Baig was invited to speak to the members of ACITA (International Trade) on various elements of post Brexit law surrounding customs and excise and international trade. 

ACITA is an organisation that represents various importers, exporters, freight forwarders, customs brokers, consultants and other parties concerned in international trade. Given the diverse make-up of its membership, the ACITA’s Management Committee understands and respects the importance of impartiality and political neutrality in carrying out its activities in the interests of the membership.

Hammad's talk covered the legal framework sourrounding customs procedures, planning and advantages of Authorised Economic Status. The talk included practical examples from Hammad's practice. Hammad touched upon, amongst other aspects, Inward and Outward Process, Authorised Use, Origin and valuation. 

Hammad was called to the bar in 2010. He is a full member of the Institute of Export and International Trade (IOE&IT). He is a tax barrister and advises on all aspects of Indirect Tax Law and is experienced at in-depth analysis of complex provisions in disputes with Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs.
