Chambers is delighted to announce that at last night's Advocate's Awards Ceremony, Haydee Dijkstal - Barrister and Head of International Law at 33 Bedford Row - won the International Pro Bono Barrister of the Year Award.
Advocate is the Bar’s national pro bono charity, allowing barristers to 'balance a dedicated practice with making a significant contribution to the community'.
The Advocate Awards '[r]ecognise those individuals and chambers who have gone above and beyond expectation when undertaking pro bono work to support access to justice.'
Haydee was shortlisted for this award last month, and has now been selected amongst the shortlist as winner of the International Pro Bono Barrister of 2024.
Over the past year, Haydee has completed over 300 hours of pro bono work and assisted on cases ranging from human rights fact-finding missions to conduct trainings. Advocate have summarised the incredible pro bono work undertaken by Haydee:
