At Lincoln Crown Court on Monday last Nigel Edwards KC represented Karen Alcock, instructed by Stuart Wild of Bird & Co Solicitors Grantham, the mother of baby Kyra Leanne King who was killed by her father's working Husky Blizzard.
Ms Alcott and her ex partner had both pleaded guilty to the strict liability offence relating to death caused by a dangerously out of control dog. This followed a long period of hard work and difficult advice on the law as it relates to such offences.
Described as one of the saddest cases of its kind, where an inexplicable series of circumstances came together, to lead to a usually placid dog killing the former couples baby girl.
