Olivia Beach recently succeeded in an urgent application for interim relief due to the imminent risk of street homelessness faced by her client, NS, who is an asylum seeker that suffers with several mental health issues. The Secretary of State for the Home Department was ordered to accommodate NS with immediate effect by Mr Justice Constable.

Following this, Olivia was successful in securing permission to apply for judicial review on the basis that the accommodation provided to NS is inadequate due to its location, in particular the distance from his support network, his GP, his counselling services, the lack of an accessible mosque close to his current accommodation, and safeguarding concerns relating to the current accommodation.

Olivia was also successful in applying for expedition of the substantive hearing, and as such, the case will be heard in approximately 6 weeks time. Olivia is instructed as sole counsel for the substantive hearing.
