Simon Ridding successfully defended a consultant surgeon in a 7-day MPTS hearing brought by the GMC. The GMC alleged the fraudulent creation of several Basic Adult Life Support certificates between 2018 and 2024.
Simon’s client had limited evidence to rebut the allegations however after a pressured oral evidence phase and 2 days of deliberation, all fraud and dishonesty allegations were found not proved. The case proceeded to Stage 2 on Stage 1 administrative admissions and no impairment was subsequently found. Further, Simon’s client avoided receiving a warning and can continue to practice without any stain from these allegations on his record.
