Sonia Larbi Aïssa represented the defendant in a two-handed trial at Wood Green Crown Court concerning allegations of assault occasioning actual bodily harm of a 16-year-old defendant and assault by battery of the child’s mother.

After hearing live evidence from five prosecution witnesses and four defence witnesses including the two defendants, the jury acquitted Sonia’s client of ABH and found him guilty of the alternate and less serious charge of assault by battery of the 16-year-old. The jury also returned a guilty verdict for assault by battery of the child’s mother. The co-defendant was convicted of the same.

After spending seven months on remand, the client was sentenced to time served and released from custody at the conclusion of the trial.
