Nichola Cafferkey's client was one of eight defendants subject to a large and complex prosecution brought by West Midlands Police Regional Organised Crime Unit and the CPS Complex Fraud Unit. The indictment spanned six years and included offences of Conspiracy to Defraud, Conspiracy to Cheat the Revenue and Perverting the Course of Justice. The prosecution focused on an alleged sophisticated multi million pound operation involving numerous corporate identities said to be involved in cash for crash insurance fraud.

Following extensive legal arguments concerning disclosure and abuse of process the prosecution offered no evidence and not guilty verdicts were returned.

Nichola and Jennifer Brenton were instructed by Leila Abdul-Rasool of Lewis Nedas Law.
