Tom Edwards secures the acquittal of his client in a three-week, six-handed aggravated burglary case R v Benjamin and others, in Oxford Crown Court.
The complainant had sought to evade the police and refused to assist. The case involved lengthy hearsay arguments on the admissibility of the complainant's statement in his absence. The defence case was that they were buying a rare form of cannabis known as shatter and that he did not know about the fact that an aggravated burglary was to be committed. Tom's client was one of two acquitted.
