Christina Warner has become a leading advocate for animal protection within family law, has been invited to speak at Yale University’s Animal Ethics Study Group (Yale Interdisciplinary Center for Bioethics) on 14 November 2025.

Christina will present the story of Ruby’s Law, a pioneering campaign she founded to ensure that pets are recognised in family law - particularly in cases of domestic abuse and coercive control. At its core, Ruby’s Law seeks to make sure that no survivor is ever forced to choose between their own safety and the safety of their beloved animals.

Her work represents a groundbreaking effort to connect animal welfare and human justice, highlighting how protecting pets means protecting families too. Through Ruby’s Law, Christina has brought international attention to the gaps in current legislation, advocating for reforms that treat companion animals as victims in their own right and strengthen protective measures in family courts.

This invitation from Yale University and Yale Law School marks a significant recognition of Christina’s global impact. It provides a vital platform to advance dialogue around the intersection of law, ethics, and animal protection - and to inspire legal and policy change worldwide.
