Rabia is an experienced and accomplished family law specialist at 33 Bedford Row., recognised as a Leading Junior [Legal 500]  She has extensive experience in all areas of family work – specifically care proceedings, private law, financial remedies (including Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989 & TOLATA) and Family Law Act proceedings. In matrimonial finance, Rabia has experience in advising on needs-based cases, ring fenced assets and non-disclosure and dissipation of assets. She has acted for clients in multi-jurisdictional disputes. She is a skilled negotiator and is instructed in each stage of proceedings. Rabia is often instructed to advise and represent clients in respect of cohabitee claims, and TOLATA proceedings.

Family Law Act Proceedings 
Rabia has extensive experience in part IV applications ranging from NMO’s, Occupation orders, transfer of tenancy applications within the context of occupation orders & contested hearings

Rabia accepts, where appropriate, publicly funded work and Conditional Fee Agreements (including Partial CFAs).

Rabia’s most commonly used pricing models for privately funded work, are:

(a) for specific drafting work - a fixed fee;

(b)  for specific hearings;

(c) for other work - hourly rates.

Rabia's fees are based on an hourly rate of £385 plus VAT per hour.  This is indicative only and may vary depending on various factors - please ask for a quotation.

Rabia’s fees for a first Dispute Resolution Appointment in financial proceedings start from £1800 plus VAT, per hearing. For whole day and/or final hearing rates, please contact the clerks directly.

Rabia has professional indemnity insurance cover for all types of legal services she supplies to the public and businesses.

Email Policy: If an email is received by Rabia after 6pm, it will not be deemed as read until 9am the following business day. 

Direct access: Rabia accepts Direct Access and Public Access work. While Rabia can draft documents, and advise and guide a Direct Access/Public Access client, the Direct Access/Public Access client will need to issue proceedings, file documents at court, and serve documents on other parties themselves. The scope of Rabia’s services should be discussed with her clerk.

Cancellation Policy - We understand that in some cases matters settle or are vacated at the last minute, negating the need for a hearing. When a booking is made in Counsel’s diary, whether or not the brief has actually been delivered, if cancelled less than 24 hours prior to the hearing 100% of the brief fee will apply. This is to provide remuneration both for the preparatory work undertaken by Counsel and the inability to undertake further hearings.
