Introduction

Amoya undertakes advocacy in all areas of family law, in both public and private law. She conducts cases from first appearance through to final hearing at all levels from Family Courts to the High Court.

Amoya has a unique skill set, having worked in-house carrying out litigation and advocacy within various Local Authorities and private law firms over the years. Her unique experiences from years working in-house with a wide array of agencies, professionals and individuals from diverse backgrounds enables her to thoroughly understand cases from all angles as well as multi-agency involvement.

Her practice includes cases which involve complex facts, concurrent criminal proceedings and investigations, chronic neglect, emotional, physical and sexual abuse and non-accidental injuries; she also deals with inherent jurisdiction and adoption matters. Amoya also has experience in dealing with cases involving vulnerable adults with substance misuse issues, mental health, and cognitive difficulties. 

Alongside the above, Amoya has particular interest in dealing with matters which include extra-jurisdictional elements  (including under the Hague Convention) which is assisted by her immigration law expertise.

Amoya’s tenacious, pragmatic, and efficient approach to cases enables her to swiftly bring clarity to complex issues. Her deep working knowledge of family law in both theory and practise bring unique pathways to solving clients’ issues, whilst her professional yet emotionally intelligent approach enable her to understand client needs and secure the right outcomes irrespective of the audience involved.
