Deborah is an experienced family law practitioner specialising in public law. She represents parents, local authorities and children in care proceedings. Her specialities include sexual abuse cases involving child witnesses, child protection cases involving concurrent criminal proceedings, ritualised child abuse/cultural practices, non-accidental injuries and neglect. She also advises on ancillary relief cases and takes on complex private law disputes.

Deborah's key strengths are forensic insight, skilful analysis, strong advocacy techniques and firm and confident negotiation skills, as well as dedication to client care.  She is often instructed in cases that involve difficult clients or by parties advancing a case that is resisted by the other parties.

Deborah is committed to ensuring that publicly funded clients have access to high-quality advocacy. 

Deborah has several years’ experience of working in-house for a local authority, representing parents, children and local authorities in complex and highly contentious proceedings in the County Court and High Court.

Deborah serves as one of Chambers' Equality and Diversity Officers.
