Introduction
Jay is a Family Law specialist. He has regularly appeared in the Family Court to represent private parties and public bodies.
Family Law
Jay represents parties in relation to private proceedings in the Family Court, often involving allegations of domestic abuse. As such Jay is highly competent in working with clients experiencing difficult emotional circumstances, and is skilled in constructing and negotiating agreements between parties.
Jay has recently appeared in a financial remedies matter concerning approximately half a million pounds and allegations of non-disclosure.

Prior to Pupillage
Before pupillage, Jay worked with the Greater Manchester Law Centre to represent clients who had been denied welfare benefits. He represented their appeals before the First-tier Tribunal (Social Security and Child Support) and was successful in each, securing future and back payments amounting to thousands of pounds. Jay also regularly appeared in the County Court in relation to small claims and infant settlement approval hearings.
