Maeve is a barrister with a diverse practice. Maeve has a practice within the range of chamber's expertise in Criminal Law, Family Law, Regulatory Law and Human Rights Law. Maeve accepts instructions from Regulatory Agencies to prosecute in a variety of regulatory offences.

She practices in all aspects of criminal law both prosecuting and defending. Maeve has a busy criminal practice in the Crown Court. Maeve is experienced in representing clients  charged with a variety of offences across the criminal law spectrum, including offences against the person, fraud,  sexual offences and drug offences. Maeve’s persuasive and confident style of advocacy, combined with academic legal arguments and empathetic client care, has resulted in outstanding results and highly commendable feedback from clients.

Maeve also has an active practice in professional discipline and regulatory cases, often appearing for regulators at substantive and interim hearings. Maeve has expertise in the healthcare field. She is instructed on a regular basis to act on behalf of regulators and regulated professionals before bodies.

Maeve also specializes in Extradition Law. She accepts instructions in both Part 1 and Part 2 cases. She has knowledge of a wide range of legal issues arising under the Extradition Act 2003 and the European Convention on Human Rights.

Maeve routinely represents Requested Persons in extradition proceedings, from first appearance, final extradition hearing through to Appeal in the High Court.

Maeve was involved in a high-profile Rwandan extradition matter, a Prima Facie case for charges of murder and genocide. This involved a complex Part 2 extradition working with a QC and junior counsel. This matter was ultimately appealed to the Supreme Court. Maeve accepts instructions in all aspects of extradition law. 

Maeve has a keen interest in financial and white-collar crime. She is versed and has great knowledge of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002. She accepts instructions for Restraint Freezing Orders, Cash Forefeiture Applications and Confiscation Proceedings.
