Introduction
Patrick is a second six month pupil, having commenced his pupillage in October 2024.
Patrick studied LLB Law at the University of Manchester and for an LL.M. in Human Rights Law at the University of Edinburgh, where he graduated in the top 5 in his cohort. He was selected from his cohort to intern at the Danish Institute Against Torture in Copenhagen. Patrick also represented the University in the international Wilem C. Vis Commercial Arbitration Moot.
He studied for the Bar Practice Course, with the aid of a Queen Mother Scholarship from Middle Temple, one of the Inns’ major awards. Whilst studying, he volunteered at the Prisoners’ Advice Service, providing legal advice and support to prisoners in England and Wales.
Patrick has worked internationally in finance, firstly in New York, in the Leveraged Capital Markets department of UBS Investment Bank, and then in Melbourne for AMP, one of Australia’s largest retail and corporate pension providers.
He worked at Rio Tinto on issues relating to financial crime, where he reported directly to the Senior Counsel for Anti-Bribery and Corruption.
Immediately prior to beginning pupillage, Patrick worked in the Personal Injury team at Leigh Day, where he worked on high-value road traffic accident claims, public liability cases and secondary victims claims.
As a second six month pupil, Patrick is not a tenant/member of 33 Bedford Row.
