The event, to be held on 24 October 2024, will launch the report of an independent delegation of international lawyers who travelled to Nepal in March 2024 to conduct a fact-finding mission into questions of access of justice, rule of law and progress with transitional justice mechanisms in Nepal.  33 Bedford Row’s Haydee Dijkstal was part of a delegation which travelled to Nepal and drafted the report.

The report launch event will introduce the in-depth report into the opportunities and challenges for transitional justice in a country which finds itself at a crossroads following years of impunity.  During the event the discussion will address questions, such as what democracy and rule of law means today in Nepal for address crimes and violations during the country’s civil war, and whether there can be lasting peace without justice.

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A and then drinks, nibbles and networking.
