Sandra is an experienced barrister who is qualified to practice as a Barrister in England and Wales and as an Attorney in the state of New York. Sandra is in demand for complex cases and acts in litigation and arbitration matters. She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and sits on a Tribunal presiding over tax and business rates appeals.

Regulatory

Sandra has acted in large scale financial and regulatory litigation and has been instructed in various matters including by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Serious Fraud Office. Sandra has been instructed on cases involving a multinational bank accused of breaching financial regulations, on a case involving multinational banks attempting to manipulate the EURIBOR benchmarks, and on a case involving the attempted manipulation of LIBOR benchmarks.

Sandra has been appointed as a member of the Valuation Tribunal Service of England and she presides over tax disputes.

Public Inquiries

Sandra has experience of working on public inquires. She has worked in the counsel team of a public inquiry led by Queen’s Counsel.

International

Sandra has acted in arbitration, litigation and in an advisory capacity on cases with an international component, including on matters involving multinational organisations. 

Family

She represents all parties including local authorities, guardians, parents and family members intervening to challenge a negative assessment. She listens carefully and sympathetically and always gives balanced advice, ensuring that the client is able to make informed choices about how they want their case to proceed.

Sandra is experienced in cases where there is an international dimension including the requirements relating to assessments and placements abroad and applications to remove children from the jurisdiction. Sandra is especially skilled with vulnerable clients, including those who have learning disabilities or other challenges such as mental health issues. She has a track record of representing clients where a previous child or children have been removed but where improvements have occurred. Sandra can appear in all courts including the Family Courts, the High Court and the Court of Appeal.

Sandra can also assist in secure accommodation applications and represented a party in the case of Re M (Lack of Secure Accommodation) [2017] EWFC B61.

Sandra can be instructed in all matters relating to family finance.

Sandra was the author of the FLBA News in LexisNexis Law magazine for several years.
